My family and I visited Xi'an for two days and were accompanied by Sherry, our tour guide! Even though we stayed for a very short time, Sherry made sure we visited everything important and on time. And when the person who we were going to cook dumplings with got sick, Sherry managed the schedule changes smoothly and skillfully. Beyond that, witnessing the Terracotta Soldiers was a dream come true, but Sherry's explanation and availabilty to answer questions pushed it even further! And also, not only was she a fountain of knowledge, she was very kind and open, sharing with us her day-to-day experience living in Xi'an. Finally, since my area is Asian Studies and I study Chinese, Sherry also helped me with the language and academic curiosity in an enthusiastic way. In the end, my two favourite Xi'an activities were visiting the Terracotta Soldiers and its museum, of course, and making dumplings! I highly recommend China Highlights' tour in Xi'an, especially when accompanied by Sherry.

Xi’an is a fantastic city to visit, the Terra Cotta Warriors are incredible but there is more to see and do—and eat! Make sure you ask for Jenny, she is a fabulous guide, super interesting and informative and FUN! Our group ranged in age from 15-80 and she took care everything with a keen attention to detail and nuanced suggestions to make the trip extra special. The dumpling making experience was amazing and delicious and surprisingly maybe our favourite activity? Thank you thank you Jenny!

Helen was our tour guid and we very much enjoyed Xian and wished we could have spent more time as we only had a day. Our guide made sure we experienced all that we needed to see while out there even with our limited time. I would highly recommend visiting Xian and staying a few days to further explore the history.

Had a great experience in Xi’An with Ken! He’s a very knowledgeable and professional guide, providing fascinating insights into the Terracotta Army, the ancient city wall. He tailored the tour to our interests, but also ensure we had ample time to explore and take photos without feeling rushed. This tour was the highlight of our trip!

Ken is an excellent guide to Xi'an for China Highlights. He is exceptionally knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the sites he took us to (Terracotta Army, wild goose pagoda, Xi'an museum, the mosque) and he achieves a good balance of being there to help you and giving you some space to explore for yourself.

We sort of travelled back in time to the city of Xi’an with our friendly tour guide, Jerry. He is a very dedicated person and took good care of us during our wonderful time in Xi’an. It was such a memorable trip!

Amazing organise, everything was as promised! We only had a couple of hours to go out, yet we could had an authentic meal and a whole tour to Terracotta Army. Susan is lovely, our team was happy to chose this option for today.

Great tour of Xian with Jenny and China Highlights ... we were a 3 generational family ranging from 21 to 80 and jenny was very helpful , knowledgeable and accommodating...Hotel was good .. food was excellent and driver Mr Zhou was fantastic... China Highlihgts take all stress out of travelling in China and gives you time and space to enjoy the trip

My husband and I took a cruise to Hong Kong and decided to extend our trip by taking a land tour in China as well. We chose China Highlights as the company and were impressed. Our first city was Xi’an where our guide was Jenny and our driver was Mr. “Chu” (I forget the correct spelling). Jenny met us at the airport and took care of everything from there on out! We saw the famous pagoda, the terracotta soldiers the city wall and more! We happened to visit during the Chinese New Year so we were able to take in some extra special moments. Again Jenny took great care of us, making all arrangements and asking us our preferences. The hotel was beautiful and all included meals were excellent. We would highly recommend China Highlights and even if you do not get Jenny as a guide, I am sure you will have someone just as friendly and professional! Happy travels!!

We had a fabulous time in Xian with Jenny from China Highlights as our guide. Her English is very fluent and she was able to give us such detailed information about the Warriors. Her knowledge of ancient China was exceptional.

Mervyn was a great tour guide!!!!! She took us to the warriors of terracota and gave us all the proper information about the history of the place.

Jenny from China Highlights took us to see the Terracotta Warriors, the Wild Goose Pagoda and to the city wall where we bicycled around. It was a great experience and we couldn't recommend her more highly.

Jenny from China Highlights took us to the Wild Goose Pagoda, the Terracotta Warriors and a fun bicycle ride around the city wall. Jenny also showed us a great restaurant with plenty of delicious local foods. Jenny was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The day was filled with history. Overall I would give the tour and Jenny a 10/10, it was a great day.

Fantastic journey arranged by an experienced Tour Guide Mr.Jerry for our Xi'an tour. Under his arrangment: Firstly we managed to visit the 兵马俑博物馆馆主杨先生, close chat with him about his founding of this world heritage sites. Secondly we smoothly and safely visited the 兵马俑three buildings, in avoiding huge crowd. Thirdly you should definitely not miss the 西安千古情剧recommended by Mr. Jerry. 4th special thanks to his smart arrangment to send one of our family member back to hotel due mindgrand. 5th nice trip to 大雁塔,大唐夜城,回民街etc. At last, each meals arranged by Jerry were tasteful and mount watering foods. He is strongly recommended.

As part of our first trip to China, Xi’An was our Third destination, and we were fortunate to have Mervyn as our tour guide. She contacted us 24 hours in advance, providing all the necessary details for our meeting point at the train station. Upon arrival, Mervyn was waiting for us at the station, accompanied by the driver, and the vehicle provided—a top-quality MPV—was perfect for our group of three. Both Mervyn and the driver were highly professional, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Mervyn was incredibly efficient in organizing our itinerary, which included visits to all important attractions like City Wall, Muslim Quarters, Terracota Warriors Museum, pagoda and much more. She even extended her assistance into the evening, providing recommendations to ensure we were well taken care of. One of the highlights was the traditional Xi’an lunch she arranged at a fantastic restaurant, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Mervyn organised “Silk Route” show which was the best we have ever experienced live. In addition to her excellent planning, Mervyn went the extra mile by brining snacks on our day of arrival so my 10 year old son can have. On our departure day, She also arranged porter services at the Xi’An train station, which made our travel experience much smoother. Mervyn’s attention to detail and professionalism made her one of the best and most efficient tour guides we’ve ever had. We highly recommend her services to anyone visiting Xi’An Thank you, Mervyn, for taking such great care of us!

Our guide Lily was invaluable — full of interesting information, expertly organized, and always making the extra effort to ensure we had the best experience possible during our short stay. She’s been visiting the warriors several times a week for years now, so she is a wellspring of facts and insights you otherwise might not notice (our would need several more hours to learn on your own). Despite all her experience, she never makes anything feel routine. She has endless enthusiasm for her city and its unique history, and it shows. You haven’t truly experienced the Wild Goose Pagoda until you’ve heard her tell some of the stories behind its elaborate murals. She and our talented, upbeat driver also made sure we got everywhere we needed to go, safely and on time. And when something wasn’t going right, even without a full translation we could tell she was working hard and problem-solving to make it right. With her help, we were free to relax and know that we were making the absolute most of our time in Xi’an.

Our tour with Sherry in Xi’an was amazing! Her in-depth knowledge made the Terracotta Warriors so much more than just a quick visit, turning it into a truly engaging and memorable experience. She took us to incredible spots, including the vibrant Muslim Quarter, and introduced us to fantastic local food. Sherry and China Highlights also went above and beyond to help us celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, making the trip even more special. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience with our guide Jenny, who took us to experience old and new in Xi’an. She’s high energy, fun and extremely knowledgeable. We worked with China Highlights because we had a group of 6, and they arranged everything from hotels and transport, to activities and tickets. The first day we had a full day itinerary, starting off visiting the terracotta warriors. December is ideal because it’s less crowded, and Jenny navigated us through the various pits and exhibits while provided a lot of color on the history. After, we arranged a private session to make one ourselves out of clay and mold. We then went to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda which is near the city center and ended the day on a lively street behind the Wyndham Grand Xi’an that is a modern take on the night market with street performances and modern stalls. The next day we went to visit and biked the Old City walls, before navigating the Muslim Quarters. Throughout the experience, Jenny managed a good pace that was good for the kids and elderly alike, and was very flexible with the types of activities. Would love to visit Xi’an again and experience more. And when we do, we will definitely ask for Jenny again.

I was in Beijing for almost a month on business but wanted to take advantage of my time in China to see the terracotta warriors. I thus scheduled a weekend in Xi’an and booked a day with China Highlights. I was not disappointed. The army is definitely a site that should be on anyone’s bucket list and my day with Lily offered even more than that. She was at my hotel early, we started at the fascinating big wild goose pagoda, had a fantastic visit of 2.5 hours with the warriors followed by a fantastic lunch, and finally some great tips on more to do in Xi’an.

Susan was our guide during our visit to Xi’an, the second of our four mainland China cities to visit. We had a great time thanks in large part to Susan. She shared a ton of history and cultural information, with several special touches that made her love of her city, job as a guide, and concern for her clients very apparent. She has set a very high bar for our future guides, and confirmed our choice of China Highlights for our trip planning.

The marvels of Xi'an was accentuated by our guide, Ms Li Ying, who made our experience richer, carefree & felt like royalties.
