Our local guide, Leaf Zhang, is passionate in her work, knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. She provides in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of each location. She even helped my wife to choose qipao and helped us in our photo shoots. We would certainly recommend her to our friends and also request for her service again should we come back to Hangzhou again.

May organized us a perfect journey and Derek was a perfect guide. We liked very much the Lakenheath, the pagoda, the pedestrian Street, the modern center. He took care of us for all our needs and wishes. He was very competent, practical, generous. In other words, perfect!

We were really happy with our guide Leaf. She was helpful, knowledgeable and very caring. She is also flexible with our schedule and see to all our needs. I highly recommend visiting Hangzhou, a World Heritage place.

We had great tour in Hangzhou. Very nice city. Amazing water show. But the best of all was our guide Derek. He is excellent guide with great sense of humor. Very knowledgeable and helpful. We loved Hangzhou the way it was presented by Derek

Derek and the driver were also super accommodating and took us to get a particular gift for my mom. We also had fantastic meals, guided by Derek's recs.

It was lovely strolling by the West Lake and taking in a boat trip to one of its islands. Also, a visit to a tea plantation nearby was hugely enjoyable- especially being taught how to serve tea properly! Thanks to our guide Susan for being flexible to accommodate some changes to itinerary.

Hangzhou is a beautiful city, with magnificent views. We were really happy with our guide Leaf and with China Highlights for organising such an amazing tour. Leaf was helpful, knowledgeable and always made our visit easy. I highly recommend visiting Hangzhou.

We enjoyed a wonderful time in Hangzhou with our guide Leaf. She was always happy and helpful, and ensured that everything went smoothly. She was enthusiastic and has very good English; she obviously loves her work. All our excursions were well organised. We particularly enjoyed: the Meijiawu Tea Village (Na Na was a great hostess); Lingyin Temple with its numerous rock carvings; the beautiful West Lake and the fascinating Hu Qingyu Hall Chinese Traditional Herbal Medicine Museum. We had a very good experience and have no hesitation in recommending China Highlights and Leaf.

My trip to Hangzhou was a highlight of my multiple city tour of China. Derek was my guide and from the beginning he was smiling happy and led me on an adventure of Hangzhou that included the West Lake, a boat cruise and just a few religious sites and pagodas! He also took me shopping and helped me negotiate prices! He was generous with his time, made himself available for questions 24/7. He not only suggested which restaurants to go to but what to order. If you go to Hangzhou you must request Derek and my driver Mr. Jiang. Derek was so knowledgeable about Hangzhou that I felt really knowledgeable about the area in a short amount of time. Thank you Derek for taking such good care of me!

Kudos to our guide, Derek who went over and beyond to make our trip a memorable one. Derek spoke really good English and impressed us with his knowledge of all things Hangzhou. He regaled us with stories and myths about how the various locations came to be, eg. the white snake temple, the laughing Buddha. He was very patient and answered all our questions and offered to take pictures for us.

We have Derek as our guide. He is so passionate about his city HangZhou.Such a perfect English speaking guide.Derek explanation of West Lake really blows my mind.His explanation and acknowledge on Buddhism was more than my brain can handle. The temple is just amazing , the craving on the lime stones..amazing...Derek also informed us the steps how to pray with our 'request' which I find is very detailed. Derek also recommended which delicious food that we got to try for our lunchLastly, Derek recommend which hotel and month to see HangZhou at it's best...and making me so enthusiastic to visit Hangzhou...stay a few days...

Im August 24 sind wir, organisiert von China Highlights, drei Wochen in China gereist. Die Reise war insgesamt hervorragend durch den Reiseveranstalter organisiert, und wir waren hochzufrieden! Die Tage in Hangzhou (und ein Ausflug nach Nanxun) waren wundersch?n, und unser Guide Leaf hat einen gro?en Anteil daran. Leaf sprach exzellentes Englisch, war freundlich, humorvoll und kenntnisreich, und immer ansprechbar zu Fragen rund um Hangzhou. Besonders Spa? gemacht hat der Ausflug zur Teeplantage (mit Erlernen der Teezeremonie) und der Besuch im ?Schmetterlingskuchen“-Café!

Derek is a fantastic guide! He is knowledgeable, friendly, warm and full of passion. He truly loves his job.Derek provided us with so much history and information and made our visit to Hangzhou truly memorable! Derek chose a fantastic restaurant for us to sample the local cuisine. The food was marvellous!Overall, the visit to Hangzhou was an amazing experience because we had a wonderful guide in Derek!

We did a day trip to Hangzhou and visited various attractions such as Linyin temple, Xi hu, Cheng huang pavillion and qin he fang pedestrian street. Our guide is Derek and he is very professional and very knowledgeable in the history and culture of Hangzhou. He explained to us throughly and allow us to understand the culture and history of Hangzhou. 10/10 will recommend Derek

But the China Highlights and the great guide Derek made it possible and a real experience. We reasonably combined the temples, White Snake Legend, West Lake cruise with a great lunch experience, tea museum etc. Special thanks to Derek who perfectly managed our needs beeing very nice, just like we wished it to be. Highly recommend.

My guide was Leaf . She is a warm hearted girl with a bubbly personality. Her English is very good. Furthermore Leaf showed me the way Chinese people live their daily lives.We enjoyed afternoon coffee in a very popular coffee shop. We talked about almost everything. It really felt like talking to a friend.

We had a terrific tour guide (Leaf) who was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and caring. Hangzhou was very beautiful and romantic -- the history is charming. However, it must be stated that Leaf is the primary reason our experience was so special. In addition to the things mentioned, she was also very attentive to my dad, helping carry his suitcase and pointing out steps to make sure he didn't fall. She even shared stories about her life with us, and it made us feel like we were traveling with a friend and that was an added bonus to our experience. We definitely recommend China Highlights and Leaf -- our experience was stress-free, fun, and memorable.

Derrick was very knowledgable about the culture and history. He was very organized and kept us on schedule. He shared many interesting ancient legends with us.

潘雷 fiona was an extremely enthusiastic tour guide that brought us around hangzhou. since it was our first time going to hangzhou, we weren’t sure as to which places to go, and what locals would usually do there. however, she was always there to guide us through, patiently introducing us to new places we’ve never heard before, explaining the history and culture of the places. this made our trip very interesting as we got to learn new things. not only that, she was bubbly, helpful and attentive throughout the trip which made our trip more adventurous and fun. she was very gentle and attentive towards the elders and kids in my family, and always tried her best to fulfill all our requests. she would be the tour guide i would recommend to others, as in my point of view, she was the best tour guide we could’ve asked for.

We explored Hangzhou with Lulu, it was an beautiful informative tour of Hangzhou. We had a lot of fun seeing the local temples, lake and a water town.

Our guide, Tim (Zhangbinlei), truly made our trip unforgettable. The city lived up to its reputation, brimming with rich history that Tim eloquently shared through his own experiences. ? .Tim's expertise brought each detail to life as he guided us through the pagodas and grand halls, infusing our visit with deep insight and charm. We left with cherished memories and a newfound appreciation for Hangzhou, thanks to Tim's exceptional guidance and hospitality.

We just spent a couple peaceful days in Hangzhou with Derek as our guide. Our guide Derek was fantastic. He was funny and clever, and his excellent English allowed us to have many good conversations. He explained historical and religious sites in a way that was easy to understand. We enjoyed his recommended restaurants and activities. We definitely recommend Derek as a guide when visiting Hangzhou.

Derek was one of our favourite tour guides of all time, he had a great approach to the whole tour and he was really great fun whilst also being professional.He had exceptional local knowledge having grown up in the area he tours in and this shone through in his tour as he talked about the then and now.I have to mentioned that Derek knew all the best food places around, some of the best food we ate in the whole of China! Thanks for the effort and making it such a great trip for us!

China Highlights (CH, for short) helped us create an amazing multi-city tour of China and we were very pleased with how it turned out. CH took care of the train tickets, the plane tickets, making sure the practical aspects of our itinerary made sense (what time to leave one place to make sure we made it to the right train, etc.). CH booked great hotels that were very well located, arranged local transportation for us in each of the cities we visited in comfortable cars that accommodated all of us … in sum, made sure we did not have to think about the logistics and could enjoy our trip. In Hangzhou, CH arranged for Derek to be our guide. Derek is great: he is knowledgeable, patient and super organized - his timing was impeccable (and by this I mean he had this ability for the car to meet us exactly where he wanted at the time we arrived, which is, well, quite something) -, he is a great communicator and his English is phenomenal. Derek took us to the highlights of the city, regaled us with history and with stories, explained the overall city and allowed us to enjoy this wonderful masterpiece of urbanism that is the beautiful Hangzhou. We are super grateful to China Highlights and Derek for an amazing stay in Hangzhou.
