Tour of Beijing
Tom from China tours guided us for a hike on the Jiansanling section of The Great Wall and then a one day tour of Beijing including Forbidden City Tiananmen Square and the Summer Palace. He was very friendly and accommodating from the begin. He answered all of our questions about Chinese history and culture and gave great explanations of the history of all the monuments we visited. The restaurants he chose and dishes he recommended were very tasty on both days. I would recommend him very highly to anyone looking for an English language tour in Beijing and particularly for people interested in history. more

3. Tibet — Autumn Plateau Scenery
Tibet is attractive for its rich Tibetan culture, characteristic Tibetan houses, vast grasslands, herds of cattle and sheep, blue skiesy, clear water and fresh air.
Autumn is the best time to enjoy the view of snowcapped mountains from a distance. You will have better opportunities to see the peaks of Namcha Barwa or Mount Everest. It's a good time to hike and trek in Tibet.
4. Great Wall Hiking and Camping
Hiking of the wild Great Wall is definitely an amazing experience in October, especially during the Golden Week (National Day holidays) if you want to get away from crowds.
Hiking, camping, having a BBQ dinner, sharing beers with friends, appreciating the enchanting sunset and sunrise over the Great Wall... All these exciting things you experienced on the Great Wall will be your unforgettable memory.
5. Guilin
Autumn is the best time to visit Guilin weatherwise. This time of the year is very suitable for sightseeing and outdoor activities. A hike among the rice terraces and a cruise on the Li River are very popular.

You can spend 4 or 5 days hiking in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, enjoying panoramic views of the stunning Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon on the world's highest glass bridge, and taking the world's longest cable car ride to explore Tianmen Mountain.
October is the best time to visit Zhangjiajie as the weather is comfortable, the mountains are cool, and (apart from the National Holiday in the first week) it is quiet.
Most of the national forest in Zhangjiajie is evergreen, but, in October, Wolongling in the Tianzi Mountain area and Yaozi Village are the two best places to see fall foliage.
