Lulu, our tour guide in Kunming is a very gentle & friendly person. She took such a great care of us during the whole journey.

I could not have wished for a better guide than Luna. She was interesting, funny, amicable, knowledgeable, patient, inventive and the most wonderful person I could have spent the day with. The program was very interesting, and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself today. At the end of hour trip we discussed my train trip to Laos and she reminded me to get a paper ticket and went out of her way to help me find instructions how to go about that. Luna is a total treasure, and she set a very high bar for other future guides to measure up to.

Our tour guides and drivers were very knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. The guides and drivers shared interesting insights and anecdotes which helped us better understand the culture and history of Yunnan. The itinerary was well planned and the pace was comfortable for us. We were impressed by the guides who went the extra mile to help us get through the packed train stations and tourist attractions. While some roads in Yunnan were not easy to navigate, the drivers were highly professional and we felt safe during the entire ride. We enjoyed the passion, professionalism and great service from guides and drivers in all 3 cities (Kunming, Dali and Lijiang) but special mention needs to be made of: - Sally (guide for Dali) who was 200% attentive towards the needs of the elderlies in our group, passionate and highly professional in her work, punctual, advocates for her guests - Mr Xu (driver for Dali and Lijiang) who displayed a high degree of professionalism in ensuring punctuality and safety during the trip. When our Lijiang guide needed rest during a car ride, Mr Xu promptly took over, explaining the history and trivia of the locations we were visiting - and his knowledge gives many tour guides out there a good run for their money! - Lina (guide for Kunming) whom we made a spontaneous request to help us identify a traditional Chinese medication - she immediately went on her phone to search for

We spent a fabulous week traveling through Yunnan. Our guides, Jack (Shangri la) Alice (Lijiang) Frank (Dali) and Rosemary (Kunming) all have deep knowledge of their cities and did an excellent job showing us their home areas. Our driver Mr Liu was also excellent taking us safely from place to place. This China Highlights trip was as advertised and we highly recommend it.

We had an awesome holiday with China Highlights. The guides Lulu, Sally and Eleanor were welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. The itinerary planned by Glory was well thought for a family with young kids.

Booked a 10D family trip in Yunnan covering destinations from Kunming and Yuanyang to Lijiang and Dali. We are currently 5 days in, and have been well taken care of by fantastic guides Glenda (Kunming) and Scarlett (Dali). Both guides have been incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the history, culture, and natural beauty of each location. They’ve also gone out of their way to recommend excellent local food, ensuring we experience the authentic flavors of Yunnan. What we’ve appreciated most is their flexibility with the itinerary, allowing us to explore at our own pace and make adjustments based on our preferences. It’s been a seamless and enjoyable experience so far, and we’re looking forward to the rest of the trip!

We had a wonderful experience with Daisy Dali seeing Dali old Towne and the Bai villages around Lake Erhai. She is wonderfully sweet and thoughtful and really worked to makes sure we saw things we were especially interested in. She picked us up at the airport and made sure we were comfortable in our beautiful hotel and had excellent recommendations for trying fried cheese, flower cakes and a great noodle shop for dinner. She took us to the markets in Xihou, silk embroidery school and a traditional Bai house. She knew we were interested in the indigo tie die work and made a special stop in Zhoucheng. It was a beautiful, relaxing drive around the lake with scenic stops. Thank you, Daisy!!!

Dali is a pleasant break from the frigid cold of Beijing. Daisy from Dali was a knowledgeable, energetic guide who was very helpful. The Embroidery School and natural indigo batik shop were well worth the time. You can’t go wrong with Daisy from Dali!

We have not been to China for more than 15 years and were pleasantly surprised by how much it has changed. Furthermore, we were used to travelling free and easy but we decided to travel with China Highlights for our trip to Yunnan and are glad we did. The itinerary planned was exactly what we wished for - slow and easy but still allowing us to maximise our time there. China Highlights ensures that the local guides are of high standards and are able to share with us stories of the different tribes and places. We wish to give a special shout out to our guides - Sally and Antonio and our driver Mr Yang. Sally is very meticulous and put in great effort to make sure that our needs are well looked after. Antonio shared with us many interesting stories and knowledge about Yunnan and China. Mr Yang was easy going and provided good company. I would definitely consider China Highlights again.

We went to Lijiang, Shaxi and Dali. My second time, my family’s first time. It was absolutely amazing, an experience filled with culture, nature and delicious foods. I would strongly recommend China Highlights to organise this trip for you as they know exactly what to show you and their service is excellent. Big shoutout to Coco, our agent who never disappoints. Our experience with Daisy as our guide in Dali was absolutely unforgettable! She was not only highly professional but also warm, enthusiastic, and incredibly knowledgeable, making every moment of our trip both fun and meaningful. Daisy planned a fantastic itinerary for us, starting with the awe-inspiring Cang Shan, where we marveled at the majestic mountain views. She then guided us through an enchanting tie-dye workshop, where we unleashed our creativity and learned about this traditional art form. One of the highlights was making delicate and fragrant flower cakes—a cultural experience that was as delicious as it was engaging. Daisy also took us to the serene and picturesque Erhai Lake, where we enjoyed the calming views. The “Meet Yourself” tour was a soulful journey, while Little Santorini provided a vibrant, Mediterranean-inspired charm that we didn’t expect to find in Dali. Daisy’s ability to recommend mouthwatering local dishes elevated the experience even further. Every meal was a culinary adventure, thanks to her fantastic suggestions. Additionally, she has a natural talent for photography—she captured stunning photos of us and the scenery, making sure we had beautiful memories to take home. Her impeccable organization, thoughtful details, and genuine passion for her work made this trip truly extraordinary. We can’t recommend Daisy enough for anyone planning to explore Dali—she’s simply the best!

We had an incredible experience with Daisy as our guide in Dali! She was professional, knowledgeable, and made our trip so much fun. Daisy curated an amazing itinerary for us, including visits to Cang Shan, Erhai, hands-on tie-dye and flower cake making experience that was both creative and memorable. We had a wonderful trip at Yunnan. Itinerary was very well planned and transfer within each city within Yunnan is very smooth and the guide in each city was there early to welcome us. We had a very good understanding of the culture of Yunnan and the legend behind the each scenic area through our guides. I would like to specially thank to all of our guides, Scott, Grace and Alice who took good care of us in each city. They are very patient, friendly and cheery. They would always took the extra mile to ensure our needs are taken care. In addition, thanks to our Drivers, too who drove us safely within the cities. I will definitely choose China Highlights again for my next trip to China and recommend my friends.

We had a wonderful itinerary in Yunnan and a wonderful tour guide, Daisy. Daisy brought us on a very fun and enjoyable tour around Dali and Shaxi. We learnt a lot and our family had a lot of fun doing tie dye, flower tea cake and taking lots of beautiful photos! Daisy is a great photographer!

Traveling to Kunming with my family was an incredible experience, made even more special by our amazing tour guide, May. Her warm personality and deep knowledge of Kunming’s history and culture brought every place we visited to life. From the stunning Stone Forest to the serene Dianchi Lake, May made sure we enjoyed every moment and tailored the experience to suit our family’s interests. Our trip to Yunnan was amazing and there were a tonne of well thought out activities to entertain everyone. Our guides May (Kunming), Sally (Dali), Alice (Lijiang), Daniel (Lijiang), Pema (Shangri-La) and driver 尹光涛师傅 were very knowledgeable and thoughtful. We also made some ad hoc adjustments to the itinerary which was facilitated by the guides.

The very friendly guides from China Highlights showed this beautiful province! Especially Sally and Alice took care for us very well! We really enjoyed learning about minorities, see beautiful landscape and unesco ancient cities! There are less tourists than in other mainspots, so you feel a bit more ?into“ the people’s life! I really recommend visiting Yunnan

Absolutely reliable with seamless coordination between several parties and locations. Very transparent with correspondence and with good customer service support throughout the tour. Prompt in solving issues and proactive. Highly recommended. We enjoyed our 10 day tour tremendously, and our favourite guide is Frank from Dali. Efficient, knowledgeable, and thoughtful, he was a pleasure to have. Other notable guides are Lina from Kunming and Louise from Lijiang. All on all, China Highlights truly delivered.

My trip consists of Kun Ming, Dali and Li Jiang.It was a very memorable experience with my guides Selina, Vicky and Peter, and driver Mr Song. I enjoyed the local food and the cultural exchange experience. They were very helpful and passionate in their tour. When I’m back would be sure to look for them again!

Wow… Kunming is a lovely city … the Stone Forest is a must do , but there is plenty to see . Would recommend Sophie as a guide … she was very attentive and a great problem solver. Her English is excellent . The Cachet Hotel and German Restaurant is a great bet for a hotel and dinner .

We had a wonderful holiday in Yunnan. In addition to the awesome scenery, varied cultures of the different minority groups, we had very good guides and drivers: Lulu and Jack Li in Kunming, Jessica in Dali, Eleanor in Lijiang and Ah Feng in Shangri-la.

Our tour guides and drivers, Doyle, Sally, Peter, Lulu, Jack and Mr. Huang provided a great care to us throughout the tour. We appreciate their professionalism, and high level of service. We recommend China Highlights/Asia Highlights to anyone.

I was alone in my travels but I never felt lonely, thanks to the awesome guides in Yunnan (Rosemary, Daisy, Eleanor and Pema). They achieved the perfect balance between affection and professionalism that made my travel wonderful. All the sights, sounds and fragrances from the autumn flora made all the memories so much more special.

It is a memorable journey in Yunnan. Started off with Stone Forest and Tongyung Temple in Kunming. Our guide May is very caring and professional. She is fantastic and has make our trip a very comfortable and enjoyable one.
