China Highlights had arranged everything very perfect and I travelled by train , airline and car. Especially the guide Luna had done everything that I had a smooth travel,the car allways picked up in time, we visited all booked places, tours etc. I will probably book again with China Highlights the next trip to Yunnan, Sichuan or Tibet and hope that guide like Luna will make the travel so easy

The guides were all very good - professional, good local knowledge and language skills, and were all passionate about their work and seemed genuinely happy to be able to share details of their cities and cultures with us - special mention to Luna in Kunming, Jessica in Dali, Jack in Lijiang and Peter in tiger leaping gorge/Shangri-La - thanks to all of them for making our trip a great one!

Our family had an amazing and truly memorable 6-day journey through Yunnan, thanks to our fantastic guide Doyle and our driver Jack Li. Both Doyle and Jack were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and attentive to all of our needs. Doyle 程impressed us with his exceptional understanding of the history and culture of every place we visited — from Kunming to Jianshui and the stunning Yuanyang rice terraces. His passion and storytelling really brought each destination to life. Jack Li was not only an excellent and safe driver, but also thoughtful and patient, making every journey smooth and comfortable. We would also like to thank Leah Zhou for helping to organise the trip so smoothly. Everything was very well arranged, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the experience. We feel very lucky to have had Doyle, Jack, and Leah supporting our adventure — they made our trip truly special. We would highly recommend them to anyone planning a visit to Yunnan!

Our driver cum guide, Jack Lee at Kunming is knowledgeable and took great care in ensuring our safety during the whole trip. He also makes very good food recommendations to try out and assists us to take excellent photos. 王立婷, our guide for Dali is also very knowledgeable and shares a lot of interesting information about the Bai minority culture with us. She even bought us delicious strawberries which is in season. 和绍春, our guide for Lijiang provides us with good advice on how to deal with the high altitude in the mountains. Special mention to our driver 卞师傅 who ensure we had a safe and comfortable journey. Will definitely recommend China Highlights to anyone travelling to Yunnan.

Our Yunnan trip was 9 days covering Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Shangri La and Deqin. Our guide Betsy of Shangri La and Deqin is the best. Knowledgeable, friendly, broad minded, flexible and fun for the 4 days. At Tiger Leaping Gorge, she proposed changing our scheduled itinerary to a trek to the water fall and said that if we still wanted to do the scheduled trek, we can do so after the water fall. The water fall trek was fantastic!!!! Sheer drop off on one side with a 3 foot path. We stood midstream of the waterfall before it plunged over the cliff. Not for the faint hearted or those with height phobia. We dispensed with the more sedate scheduled trek after that exhilarating trek. At our request, Betsy also changed our itinerary to a horseback ride across the Napa grasslands. She is also very mindful of our requirements for clean washrooms with doors. . Our driver for the 7 days is also great. He handled the bends smoothly and the drive in his VW Passat which was cigarette smoke free was very pleasant without my dreaded car sickness. Sally of Dali is also a great guide. The cactus temple on our hike down from Cangshan Mt is a must see. Not your typical Chinese temple! No incense. Just offerings of cactus. Our hotel Honglongjing which is located right in the Ancient City of Dali is a great place to stay. You can view the sunrise on the roof platform of the Hotel where you can see the Erhai Lake and the mountain range. The Crossing Bridge Noodles at the Hotel restaurant is delicious. The pure silver 99.99 tea pots and cups from Cun Si Yin Huang are works of art. They are hand made by silversmiths and they are gorgeous. Couldn’t help myself … they go very well with the famous Yunnan Puer tea. As a native, Sally knows which are the genuine shops where the locals go and which are the tourist traps. In Lijiang, our climb to Jade Dragon Snow Mt after the cable car stop was epic (to me). It was minus 5degrees Celsius, snowing, and the climb to reach 4680 meters took an hour. The last stretch of the climb was up 100 steep steps with gulps of oxygen for me every 30 steps. Great fun!

Luna was an amazing guide for our group of four, including two elderly parents. She was incredibly attentive, especially helping my dad navigate the steps and paths in Shilin Stone Forest. Her knowledge of Kunming and the local culture was excellent. She took us to lunch at my chosen place, helped with ordering, and recommended delicious local dishes. Luna was also very helpful in giving us suggestions for other areas beyond Kunming. We truly had a great experience!

We are on 11 day tour to Yunnan and in Dali, 杨惠娟 was our guide. Special me tion to her for her professionalism and knowledge. She is also responsible and make all possible to accommodate to our needs. Lovely cafe she brought us to take the Erhai scenic shoots. Thanks to her we also enjoyed snacks and the good she arranged of us in the restaurants during the trip. 小杨，谢谢你。

Special thanks also to our tour guides: Selina in Kunming, Daisy in Dali, Rachel in Lijiang, and Peter in Shangrila, they took a very good care of us, they spoke English very good, very knowledgeable on their respective region, very passionate and always help us to make our trip very special

We went on a 11 day bespoke tour of beautiful Yunnan co-ordinated by Leeki of China Highlights. She helped to plan the itinerary and took away the hassle of booking train tickets, hotels, co-ordinating tje guides We were well looked after by Lulu in Kunming, Sally in Dali, Peter in Lijiang and Betsy in Shangrila. The guides were knowledgeable, accommodating, pleasant and were able to develop a good rapport with us. The drivers were professional, careful and had good attitude. We were well looked after by the teams We stayed in 2 high end local and 2 high end international chain hotels. They were well maintained, provided good service, the rooms were well furnished and in good locations

We were fortunate to have had such an exceptional team of tour guides throughout our journey. Each guide not only ensured our safety and comfort but truly elevated the experience with their unique personalities and deep knowledge of their regions.Lydia welcomed us in Kunming with warmth and efficiency. She was incredibly meticulous, offering detailed instructions and helpful tips for our trip to Shangri-La. When I faced an unexpected issue with my passport during the train registration, Lydia swiftly stepped in and resolved the matter—I'm truly grateful for her calm and capable support. In Shangri-La, James impressed us with his extensive knowledge of local customs, culture, and the lifestyle of the region’s people. His dedication was evident—he constantly checked in with everyone to ensure we were all well taken care of. Jack, who guided us in Lijiang, was equally detailed and insightful, especially when sharing about the local Naxi culture. His passion for the region’s heritage made our time there all the more meaningful. Alice, our guide in Dali, was energetic and engaging—her enthusiasm was infectious and made exploring the area a joy. She brought the stories of the place to life with her animated storytelling and warm personality.

The tour guides in each location were all excellent in looking after our welfare and requirements.Lydia met us on arrival at Kunming, James was at Shangri-la, Jack was at Lijiang, Alice at Dali and on our departure date we had May in Kunming. Each one was knowledgeable of their respective region and took efforts to enlighten us on local culture and customs. The places are the same it's the guides that differentiate the experience. Thanks to them , we had a great experience.

We toured Shangri-La with our guide Peter. There were many last min changes to our itinerary due to inclement weather but Peter was very flexible and able to accommodate the requests. He was also very knowledgeable abt the area ans enthusiasm was great! Thank you for making our trip a memorable one, Peter!

We were in Kunming with May. She is excellent, both helpful, knowledgeable and personable. We would certainly recommend her to guide whoever goes to Kunming.

My friends and I had just completed a 9-day tour of Yunnan, customized for 4 of us; transport, accommodation, and itinerary, all meticulously arranged by Carrie of China Highlights. All the 4 local tour guides for the trip; Selina, Daisy, Martin and Peter were professional, knowledgeable and excellent. They made our trip very memorable, especially Daisy who took v nice photos of us and made a video of the places we visited with her in Dali. Thank you for the love and care showered on us. Lulu, our tour guide in Kunming is a very gentle & friendly person. She took such a great care of us during the whole journey.

I could not have wished for a better guide than Luna. She was interesting, funny, amicable, knowledgeable, patient, inventive and the most wonderful person I could have spent the day with. The program was very interesting, and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself today. At the end of hour trip we discussed my train trip to Laos and she reminded me to get a paper ticket and went out of her way to help me find instructions how to go about that. Luna is a total treasure, and she set a very high bar for other future guides to measure up to.

Our tour guides and drivers were very knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. The guides and drivers shared interesting insights and anecdotes which helped us better understand the culture and history of Yunnan. The itinerary was well planned and the pace was comfortable for us. We were impressed by the guides who went the extra mile to help us get through the packed train stations and tourist attractions. While some roads in Yunnan were not easy to navigate, the drivers were highly professional and we felt safe during the entire ride. We enjoyed the passion, professionalism and great service from guides and drivers in all 3 cities (Kunming, Dali and Lijiang) but special mention needs to be made of: - Sally (guide for Dali) who was 200% attentive towards the needs of the elderlies in our group, passionate and highly professional in her work, punctual, advocates for her guests - Mr Xu (driver for Dali and Lijiang) who displayed a high degree of professionalism in ensuring punctuality and safety during the trip. When our Lijiang guide needed rest during a car ride, Mr Xu promptly took over, explaining the history and trivia of the locations we were visiting - and his knowledge gives many tour guides out there a good run for their money! - Lina (guide for Kunming) whom we made a spontaneous request to help us identify a traditional Chinese medication - she immediately went on her phone to search for

We spent a fabulous week traveling through Yunnan. Our guides, Jack (Shangri la) Alice (Lijiang) Frank (Dali) and Rosemary (Kunming) all have deep knowledge of their cities and did an excellent job showing us their home areas. Our driver Mr Liu was also excellent taking us safely from place to place. This China Highlights trip was as advertised and we highly recommend it.

We had an awesome holiday with China Highlights. The guides Lulu, Sally and Eleanor were welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. The itinerary planned by Glory was well thought for a family with young kids.
