Weather: Autumn begins from September, but weather still feels rather hot in the south, with average low and high temperature at 27 °C (80 °F) and 29 °C (85 °F), while in the north the weather starts to cool off a bit towards the end of the month.
Clothing: Wear summer clothes, like skirts, T-shirts, and shorts. Sun protection, umbrella, and mosquito repellant are needed. Travelers who visit the north should bring a coat for the coolness at the higher altitude.

Kenting Beach:Summer is a time to head for the beaches. Kenting National Park, on the southern tip of Taiwan, is the perfect place to go for a holiday in nature. It offers stunning tropical vistas, spectacular ocean views, and a tremendous array of both flora and fauna.
The large 300-square-kilometer (100-square-mile) national park is a place for both nature hiking and basking on the beach. You can stay at one of the resorts in the area. When a storm at sea kicks it up, you can surf on the waves. Scuba diving is another option.
It takes about 4 or 5 hours to travel by bullet train and bus from Taipei. Taxis from the train station are faster.
The Mid-Autumn Festival: The annual holiday is the second biggest traditional Chinese festival. It usually falls in September, but sometimes the public holiday is in early October. You can take advantage of Taiwan's mix of tropical and subtropical climate to enjoy the festival in comfort.
In the streets, you can eat moon cakes while watching lion dances and the hanging glowing lanterns. In the air above Taipei, watch thousands of lit lanterns fly upwards.
Shilin has the largest night market in Taipei. Explore the variety of kinds of moon cakes, and see how many of Taiwan's favorite foods, beverages and desserts you can eat.
Travel: The Mid-Autumn Festival is a busy travel time all over the country. During the festival period, flights to Taiwan and between Taiwan and Chinese may be difficult to get. Autumn is a low travel season in general.
