Weather: July in Taiwan is hot and humid with frequent afternoon thunderstorms and occasional typhoons. Average low and high temperatures are 26 °C (78 °F) and 28 °C (83 °F), but temperature often hits 35 °C (95 °F) during the day.
Clothing: Bring summer clothes such as shorts, skirts, and T-shirts. Sunshine is very strong so bring sunglasses and sun block. Umbrella and mosquito repellant are also needed. If you visit mountainous areas, you need to bring a sweater.
Things to Do
Janfusan: Families and children flock to Taiwan's water parks and amusement parks in the summer. Janfusan is a relatively new theme park, and it has new thrill rides and many water rides. The park features three roller coasters including Swiss-built Diving Machine G5 and Insane Speed.

- 88-meter-high (289-ft-tall) giant ferris wheel; the tallest in Taiwan
- Dancers and acrobats
- Nature park, and a sound and light extravaganza
The theme park is near Chaiyi and is a little more than a 2 hours away from Taipei by bullet train and taxi.
At Taipei 101 stay cool and see the city from the world's 3rd tallest building (2013). From the comfortable 89th floor observation deck, you can get a bird's eye view of Taipei. And at the extensive mall at ground level, experience luxurious shopping and enjoy the fine dining.
Travel: July is a high travel month. Tickets for flights to Taiwan and between Taiwan and Chinese mainland may be difficult to get.
