Things to Do in Zhangjiajie in March
See the Scenery in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
In March the scenery in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is beautiful. You can see the green-topped high quartzite rock spires. These quartzite rock towers and bluffs inspired generations of painters. One of the rock pillars is an amazing 1,080 meters (3,544 feet) tall.
The rock formations are almost unique in the world. The park was honored with World Heritage listing in 1990. It is also a UNESCO Global Geopark.
Take An Early Spring Walk
During March you may see some icicles hanging on cliffs and flowers and leaves opening nearby. You can see the beauty during a walk in early spring when there are fewer tourists and crowds than in the rest of the year.
See Yellow Dragon Cave
Yellow Dragon Cave is one of Asia's largest caverns. It extends more than ten kilometers, and it is so big there is a boat tour inside. Unless you want the adventure and wish to see the sights without the crowds, the boat tour is preferable.
The cave is damp inside, and the walking paths are slick, so wear sneakers or boots with good traction. See the glittering fantastically shaped stones, the ponds, and hear the musical sounds of the water drops.
