Shenzhen West Railway Station - Map, Bus, Tips, and Travel Routes

Written by ivana Updated Jul. 5, 2021

Shenzhen West Station is currently a very busy regular train station important for locals because of its regular (slow) and less expensive train lines. One of six train stations in the city, it isn't heavily used by tourists who prefer the much faster bullet train lines or stations in popular tourist areas such as Luo Hu. It is for low cost alternative China train travel to/from Nanshan Business District.

Inexpensive: The tickets are about the least expensive of all the train stations, and it is mostly used by working class Chinese who prefer slower trains to the more expensive bullet trains. But the facilities are poor/old fashioned including outside waiting areas.

Transportation - to/from Shenzhen West

Shenzhen districtsNanshan is a business district south of the airport in Bao'an, and west of the Hong Kong border crossings in Futian and Luo Hu.

Since there are six train stations in Shenzhen, be clear about which station you want to use. Drivers might take you to the wrong one. If you buy a ticket, make sure it leaves from the station you want to leave from. Check the name carefully.
