China Highlights Huangshan
![]() Many years ago I asked my dearest Chinese professor in Australia where was the prettiest place to visit in China, he said "Yellow Mountain"...well we made it there in May this year. And to have also met with and had our amazing guide Suki to look after us and share her beautiful Huangshan with us was a treasured memory never to be forgotten. What a stunning experience, not for the faint hearted in regard to climbing, however there are options which Suki found for us as my knee injuries were not up to excessive steps etc so changes were made to accomodate my capacity. Thank you so much Suki for an exquisite stay. Tunxi Ancient Street, overnight on Yellow Mountain, Xidi Village and Hongcun Village, everything was superb. Robyn and Patrick more

Itinerary Quick Look
Here is a suggested itinerary. We are happy to customize a tour according to your interests.
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in downtown Chengdu and drive you to Mt. Balang to see its flower oceans (in spring and summer) or fall hues, or snow-covered landscape (in winter). We reach Siguniang Town about 2 hours after the visit.
For adapting to the altitude, we've planned a short hike in Changping Valley to warm up and relax on day 2. Of course, the acclimatization exercise is totally adjustable to suit you.
The real challenge starts on day 3. We hike to the base camp from Siguniang Town. The altitude increases from 3,200 to 4,400 meters (10,500 to 14,400 feet), and the 12-km (8-mile) hike takes about 6 hours.
On the final day, we start hiking at about 4 am to reach the top at around 7 am to appreciate the sunrise there. The hiking distance is around 3.5 km (2.2 mi), and the ascent is from 4,400 to 5,025 meters (14,400 to 16,486 feet).
We'll finish the tour by driving you back to Chengdu.
